The trackers is hunter . they could follow the trail of a big horn sheep in the stone mountains. They were as sensitive as hounds.


2.What is Kino's plan to destroy the trackers?

He want to use his rifle to kill the trackers and run .





3.What did one of the trackers do when he heard a cry the second time?


4.What had the tracker really killed?

The tracker killed Coyotito.


5.Why did Kino and Juana always pray to God?

They pray that they can get away from the danger .


6.How has the vision of the pearl changed regarding: the rifle, the wedding, and Coyotito's education?

it was ugly ,it was gray, like a malignant growth , the pearl destroy Kino 's family (his son) and bring unlucky to Kino.Finally , the pearl didn't sell out ,even his son was died and it bring nothing .


7.Did Kino win his battle against society? Why?

He lose every thing , including his family ,because his son was dead ,and he cannot become rich .


8.Why did Kino give Juana the pearl to throw away?

He know that everything is not important than his family .


9.How do you think Kino and Juana feel after they had thrown the pearl back into the sea?

I think they will more gentle and practical ,at least they do not live in a danger life .


10.What happens to Juana and Kino? Does it matter what happens to them? Why?

When they found the pearl , they are full of expect to become rich and they have many dreams , but finally , they lose everything include their son , everything back to origin ,even is worse then the beginning .

Homework 9 True happiness

True happiness can only be achieved by an appreciation of the journey that we are on . we have a dream , we give our self a target to achieve it , we need a long time to go to this step . For example , if I want to get a master degree , I need to spend four years time , or longer , I need to study hardly , to get a good grade ,then I will get a diploma in one minute  . For this target , I spent much , I achieve it now , but I am not just happy at this moment , is the experience , the four years journey , the memory ,if I was enjoy it I won’t feel it is hard ,if I dislike the process ,everything become difficult .

We always envy the people who are boss , who are famous .

For example the Pianist Yundi Li 李云迪,he playing piano very well , he spend many years to practice , so was he feeling hard ? Had he been failure ? I think nothing can be success easily , the article saying that life is always going up and down , like a rollercoaster , but people always give up when the journey become failure , but we need to know that if we never been failure , although we get success ,everything become disappointed.

The second one is talking about the student always to choose a career course is because everyone else is doing it.

I think it ‘s related to the first article , if we give a wrong target to ourselves , everything is become hard, if we like it , Naturally we enjoy it .

Not just about in university life , in our daily life , we always need to choose , once we choosing  impetuous , everything become wrong .We need to treasure every chance which is favorable to us , if we don’t , then we lose the chance and the other people get it , we need to know the life is short , and our dream is endless , many thing and experience is waiting for us , never saying that I will do it later , than time was going away.

Treasure every moment we have , don’t do something because of the trend and find our own life style .  

Homework 6 Who am I ?

I know there have some people don’t know who he/ she is . They alive idle , do nothing every days and waste their time . If they are not such this , they are busy every days , have a full schedule ,go to school, working , earn money ,etc.. But actually , maybe they don ‘t know why they need to do those thing .Maybe they only want to be rich , so they go to earn money ,they want to have a good job , so they go to university a get a higher degree .

Even many people don’t like their job or something they are doing ,they only want to get the salary to maintain their living , also every people want to be more rich then they work constantly ,when they have money they can do what they want , have a partner , wedding , buy house ,buy car , have children , get old ,and over their life .What a ordinary and depressing life. Actually , until they die , they do nothing even they don’t understand their selves .Or they know what they want but they didn’t realize it ,because they ar too easy to satisfy , they think it ‘s ok they can live like these .

But I know i am not the people like this . I have a dream , is go around to world , I want skiing at Switzerland , and I want have a complete family , and go out with them every weekend end .

That will make me happy already .

I don’t like stay at home and do nothing in the weekend ,that will make me feeling bad , at least I need go out . Anything , just like have a walking or go to market with my mother .

I ‘m a person who are value to the other people view of myself , I want to the people ‘s feeling when they are being with me and I will try to let my friend happily . But it ‘s make me tired , because I cover myself already . So I just improve myself to be better and alive with my character .

I love my family , I cant live without them , I know that my parents love me too , they want me have a better live , they let me to study , and give me many choose ,and they help me found my interest , is playing piano . Their cultivation , their care , I gratitude them , they are the most important in my life ,so I want to repay them when I be success in the future , give them a glorious memories 

The Pearl chapters 4 and 5

1 ...the doctor?
  The doctor 's attitude to Kino become well , because Kino will be a rich man.

2 ...the priest?

3 ... Kino?
   Kino become crazy and selfish and greedy .

4. Describe the pearl buyers. What kind of people are they? What is their personality?
    The pearl buyers are  cunning  , they just wanted to use a lower price to buy Kino's great pearl , they were collude to give a low price .

5. What do you think about the pearl buyers? Is their personality helpful or harmful? Do you approve or disapprove of their actions? Why?
 i think they are selfish , they only think about their benefit , it 's harmful  and they are collude ,i disapprove their action , because they are fraud .

6. What does Kino mean when he says, "I have lost one world and not gained another."

7. Kino's brother tells him, "I am afraid for you." What does he mean? Why is he afraid?
 Kino wanna to get a higher price of his pearl , he  regardless of  any danger , he went to a strange place , to find different buyer , his brother think he can do every thing to become a rich man .

8. Do you think the pearl can destroy Kino and his wife? How?
  Yes , Kino become desire after he have the pearl ,he can do every thing to achieve his dream (be a rich man )

even to kill another.

9. Kino has changed since finding the Pearl. What does he do that shows this?
   He think everyone was deceive him ,and he kill people.

10. After kino is attacked, what does Juana suggest they do with the pearl? Do you agree with Juana? What would you suggest differently?
Juana suggest he to throw back the pearl to the sea , i am agree , or he can sell the pearl as fast as possible .

HW 5

1.How does news travel in the small town? Do you think Macau is similar?
  The news travels through the town very fast ,I think Macau is different with the town , because the town 's
people were cared and follow closely with the others , but Macau 's people is not interest to the other people/stranger.

2.When the priest/father learns about Kino's pearl, what does he think?
The priest thinked that whether they had baptized to Kino's son , or married him for that matter.

3.Why do you think the pearl is called, "The Pearl of the World?"
Because many people wanted to have it , and the pearl changed Kino 's fate ,changed the people 's attitude to Kino .


4.What does Kino wish for his family and friends? What are some things that he wants to do with the money from selling the pearl?
 He wished that he can marrige to his wife , wedding in the church .Buy some new clothes.And he wish that his son can go to school and learn .

5.How does Kino's personality change when he makes plans for the future?
He became greedy and he wanted more and more .

6.Why do you think Kino hears the music of evil when the priest visits them?
Because the priest said that The God control everything , he worry about he was a rich man by luck.


7.Do you think the doctor is telling the truth about Coyotito's illness? Why?
I think he was lying , I think he was just want the fee of treatment ,because of his morality.

8.What disagreement forces Kino to allow the doctor to treat Coyotito?
Kino didn't know whether his son was fine or in danger , his didn't have chance to reject the doctor.

9.Kino becomes "every man's" enemy? Why?
Because everybody knew that he become rich without disburse,they jealousy.

10.What do Kino's friends think about Kino's dreams and plans? Do they agree with him?
  His friend think that Kino was foolish to have a dreams and plans . They didn't agree with him.

Chapter 1


1.Notice that the townspeople follow Kino. What does that tell you? 
  The town people are care to each other and rally.

2.Why did the doctor refuse to treat Coyotito?

   Because of the race , Coyotito was Indian ,and Kino was poor , he can't bear the treatment fees. 

3.What does that tell you about the doctor's personality?

   His furniture ,his expensive gown , silver pot, show that he was ignorance and appetites .He only  therapy for rich people and he discrimination the Indian , show that he was cruelty and  avarice  .

4.What are the conflicts in the story so far? 

5.What is the Song of the Family?

      The song of the family is the sound of the  little splash of morning waves on the beach.

6.What is the Song of Evil? When does it first appear?

   The evil song was the music of the enemy , it first appear when Kino saw the scorpion move near his son . 

Chapter 2

1.Why did Steinbeck include the first section about the life in the Gulf waters?
   it is a natural world which they live.

2.The canoe is mentioned quite often. Is it a symbol for something?

  yes, this canoe is Kino's grandfather 's canoe and give to his father and him. It mean the continues of his family. 

3.What is the main event of this chapter?
   This chapter was describe Kino and his wife find the pearl .


4.To what new Song are we introduced?
    A secret little inner song, hardly perceptible,sweet and
   secret and clinging, almost hiding in the counter-melody, and this was the Song of the Pearl That
Might Be.

Michio Hoshino (1952~1996) is a Japanese  . He was a famous nature photographer , He was good at filming wild animals, especially, bears  .
In addition to filming , he often  conduct  the ecological speech , reflect he was passion for the natural . I really like the dedicated of
Michio Hoshino .








August 1996 , when  Michio Hoshino was resting in the tent ,suddenly a bear rush in , his first reaction did not run away but takes out his camera to capture the last picture of his life , finally he died under the bear paw .


Let me share his last masterpiece .

I love my university career ~~! enjoy it ~!!

I think that when we determination to do something , we need persist in it ,or we will waste our time .

such as learning , most people do not like review , don’t like to take a exam, but we must learning science we are a child , science we born to this world exactness ! Our parents must let us go to school and let us learning when we are a child , they supervise and urge  responsibility ,it ‘s because we are a child , we can’t  intend to our future ,although everyone told that learning is very important , but we hate exam and test always . though nine years , we graduate from high school ,we have a right to decide study in University continue or not . This is a cross point in our life ,it court decision in our future , I don’t say that must have a dump future when we abandon in university , or you will learn the other outlook on life . But if you really feel that you can’t spend four years to study , no better than go to work, otherwise is wasting our time and money .

To me, I choose the study way. I think that the University career is the happiest stage in our life constantly , because in University , I will meet different friend ,and they come from other place , and it more free then high school , I yearn for become a University student ,when I receive the admission notice from USJ , I was joy but also has a little bit problem , because of the payment , it ‘s expensive extraordinary !

So I discuss with my parents ,and I think over my decide repeatedly , I know that there have some economic problem in my family , but my parents still support my decide , they said that , as long as I willing , they would support my chosen . so I tread on the University Life .And I ‘ve choose the module : Government Studies .

 When I start my class , I really felt pressure , the classmate can speak English very well , and the professor only use English to teach , I felt I’m low grade student in the class , but when I think of the care of my parents , it make me power to faced up  troubles manfully.

I know more and more new friends in University , and they are please to help me , we have lunch together , work together , review homework ,what a joyful time with them! And I beginning to build my personal relations, for my future , they are nice friend .

In University or our life ,there are a lot of difficulty,  unavoidable failure , as long as don’t give up ,and solve the problem , we must successful someday .

Though innumerable difficulty , I become a university student finally ,if I give up today , I waste my parents’ money ,  disappoint their expectations, the important thing ‘s waste my time ,the willpower is very important , so I must not drop out of university, and won’t give up for which I decide to do !
